From Minneapolis, With Love
Good music for hard times.
As so many are right now, I am paralyzed by the shock of what is happening around us. We’re all collectively grieving, speechless, reading the daily headlines, trying to process the absolute horrors we’re witnessing on livestream. It’s the staring at the TV, the doomscrolling, disassociating, and feeling it all.
I put together a few artists from Minneapolis/Minnesota, hoping their music will give you a moment of peace, reflection, comfort, away from the anger and pain of the world. If the last few weeks (and this past year) have taught me anything, we’re not alone in this. Or how Father John Misty puts it: “Just random matter suspended in the dark / I hate to say it, but each other's all we've got.” Let’s all keep fighting the good fight.
I urge everyone to donate to people and families affected in Minnesota via standwithminnesota.com and to immigration advocacy groups like immigrantdefenseproject.org or freedomforimmigrants.org.
